The University of Luxembourg Institute for Digital Ethics (ULIDE) is a transdisciplinary research centre located at the Belval Campus. It interweaves academic discourse, political advice, and vivid communication with the public. ULIDE's transdisciplinary work links Faculties and Interdisciplinary Centres across the University and beyond the boundaries of their respective disciplines. Situated at the intersection of different disciplines, ULIDE draws on the University's vast intellectual resources to explore the complex relationship between technology, society and ethics. ULIDE (1) analyses ethical and societal problems emerging with digitalisation and AI, (2) explains and evaluates them both for digital professionals as well as laymen, and (3) advises national stakeholders (government, administration, educational system, private sector) as well as international stakeholders dealing with AI and big data. Your roleWe are seeking a post-doctoral researcher with a degree in law and a special focus on digital technology such as blockchain and AI, researching regulatory questions of value alignment, control and responsibility in an AI-driven digital world. The ideal candidate overlooks the challenges and shortcomings of regulating digital technologies at the European level and beyond. Working with academics from other disciplines and policy makers, the successful candidate finds solutions to the specific regulatory needs arising from technological innovation in Luxembourg. The chosen candidate conducts both basic and committed research (e.g., White Papers) and contributes their expertise and commitment to the development of the Institute.
